Vail - Day 6

With World Cup races being canceled in Europe and rescheduled for next week at Beaver Creek, the training hill is just a little bit busier in the mornings with numerous National Teams looking for space.  We started the day off with a morning core workout and then the girls had some extra time to work on their studies as was requested by most.  We were able to secure an afternoon lane for some brush apex GS.  We were training next to a group of athletes that gave us a pretty good visual for how to ski GS, one of them in particular was impressive, perhaps you've heard of Ted Ligety?  Although the ski racing visual was great, the girls seemed to be a little distracted more than anything!  Regardless, we did have our first session of brush work and as expected, athletes had some issues of being told "where to turn."  It is never easy as an athlete when you take the first few runs in a course because you are used to having your own rhythm and idea of where YOU want to turn.  We ended up splitting the session with some brush work and more free skiing drills.  It was still a productive session in many ways.  They were finally able to test some of the skills they honed over the last few days and we have plenty of room for improvement.  We will continue on the same progression tomorrow with some apex GS, brush GS, and a few other variations.
